Today a change of pace:  Below is a dispatch by Leon Trotsky from Sofia, Bulgaria on October 14th.  At the time, Trotsky, based in Vienna, was working as a correspondent for several Russian newspapers, in this case the Kievskaya Mysl.  Excerpted from “The War Correspondence of Leon Trotsky: The Balkan Wars, 1912-13”, Anchor Foundation (1980)

  1. Thank you for your kind comment. I certainly intend to stick with it. I am incrementally seeking to improve the presentation as well as vary my sources. For example, the NYT also has an archive, but they want you to take out a daily paper subscription to access it!

I also need to figure out how to hook this up with search engines, etc. But I have plenty of time (to the end of 2023) to do so.
